Live Event and Shop Technician Job Description - North Hollywood, CA (2022)

iLuminate is a performance production company based on the fusion of technology and dance. Our one-of-a-kind lighting system is a tool that enables performers, choreographers, live event and lighting technicians, wardrobe specialists, engineers, and artistic directors to collaborate and produce explosive performances with customized wireless lighting programs. (www.iLuminate.com) We are currently seeking a live event/shop technician to run both local and traveling iLuminate performances, and to work in our shop on maintenance of shows and building custom projects as they come up. Our ideal candidate will train and work hands-on in our shop, is a self-starter and quick learner, and is eager and curious about new technologies and familiarizes themselves with our product/ brand. The weekly/ Daily rate for live shows and hourly rate for shop work is based on level of experience. Must be able to begin training ASAP with traveling performances beginning as soon as June 12 - July 11, 2022.

Requirements include but are not limited to:

• Minimum of 2 years experience as a live event technician
• Proficient in soldering, wiring, and signal flow
• Experience working with EL wire & LED lights is a plus
• Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally as needed
• Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Must be self-motivated, have initiative, and work with little to no supervision
• Good hand dexterity, attentiveness to detail, and efficiency + speed are a must
• Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure
• Able to take direction with a positive attitude and work well/ respect fellow colleagues
• Able and willing to perform additional technician based duties in the office in addition to running live events

This position is part-time to full-time/ project-based. Hours will fluctuate depending on projects/ workload. There is opportunity for growth within the company for individuals who are a strong fit
