New Zealand Concerts Cancel After Mosque Attacks; Slayer, Bryan Adams, Pussy Riot

A number of international tourists canceled shows in New Zealand, in the wake of a lone wolf gunman’s attacks on two mosques in Christchurch March 15 which left 50 dead and a further 50 injured. 

Slayer’s scheduled farewell to New Zealand fans, with Anthrax in Auckland (15) and Christchurch (17) were called off. 
Bryan Adams tweeted his sympathies to affected families before canceling his March 17 date at Christchurch’s Hagley Park “in solidarity with the victims of the mass murder yesterday.” 
Pussy Riot pulled their March 15 show in Christchurch after requests from police “that due to the ongoing nature of the events that it is best to keep everyone safe and at home.” 
A number of the Russian feminist collective’s gigs in churches continued as a symbol of solidarity but a documentary screening and panel discussion at University of Otaga were scrapped but with plan to hold the discussion later in the year via satellite.
