The 20th Annual Parnelli Awards were held on June 3rd, 2022, following The 2022 National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Show. This was Roadies of Color United Association’s (ROCU) first appearance for both events. Co-Founder Lance ‘KC’ Jackson was asked to Present the NextGen Award at the Parnelli Awards.

“This was an honor, with three members of ROCU being nominated for this prestigious award,” said Jackson. “It is important to keep moving forward.”

The NextGen award was then presented to ROCU Member Arica Rust who has been a member for over a year. Rust earned many certificates in sound engineering before graduating from San Francisco State University. She specializes in system engineering, but her experience ranges from numerous roles in the live entertainment industry.

She has toured with musical acts Seventeen, Sarah McLachlan, and Hillsong United, and worked on events for IBM, Oracle, and Salesforce. More recently she has been getting more involved in audio education and is an Ambassador for L-Acoustics Creations. She currently works in the Education and Outreach Department as the Trainers Network Manager for the U.S.

Everyone at Roadies of Color United is extremely proud of Arica Rust and our other two nominees, Aaron Adams and Zionya Nolan!

“We’re excited to see what the future holds for all our members,” exclaimed Lance ‘KC’ Jackson.
