Tech-1 (Stagehand) Job

Buena Park, Ca. Area

Overview Support Technical Operations in the installation, construction, maintenance and operations in one of the following areas: staging (construction), lighting, audio, paint, scenic dressing, park decor, special effects. Provides hands on theatrical techniques and skills in the above mentioned specialty area, following directions from the supervision team. Qualifications

• Minimum 1-3 years prior experience in the field of theatre running crew, theatre set production, or special event crew support.

• Must have theatrical experience in one or more of the following: scenic painter/artist, props, scenic carpenter or construction, rigging, special effects, decor, stage lighting, or live sound reinforcement.

• Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.

• Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.

• Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which mayinclude, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law. Responsibilities

• Install stage sets (carpentry, trussing, rigging, etc.) and act as a running crew member for main stage shows, smaller daily running shows, or special events.

• Constructs, installs, strikes, and/or repairs stage scenes, set dressings, props, lighting equipment, audio equipment, and any other technical equipment as needed.

• Operates and maintains theatrical equipment such as fly rails, scenery changes, props, follow spots, lighting boards, lighting equipment, audio boards, PA systems, and audio visual equipment.

• Read, understand and implement plans and blueprints.

• Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.

• Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.

• Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.

• Meets Cedar Fair’s attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair’s attendance policies.

• Adheres to Cedar Fair’s Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.
